Experience teaching Phonics is essential as the successful candidate will be expected to lead Phonics assessments with the support of the KS1 Leader.
As a new member of the team joining the school, you will be welcomed by all staff and be invited to staff meetings and CPD opportunities (including Phonics and Y1 twilight sessions). This school encourage collaborative planning to reduce the workload for their teachers- this will be alongside the KS1 Phase Leader and Y1 partner teacher. Experience teaching Y1 would be advantageous, however not essential. Candidates with EYFS, Y2 and Y3 experience are also welcome to apply for this role.

The percentage of pupils attending the school eligible for pupil premium funding is in line with the national average. Behaviour is GOOD and this is a reflection of the high standards set by the Senior Leadership Team and hard work of all teaching and support staff to maintain high standards. The Headteacher is keen to secure a candidate who has excellent behaviour management and someone who will help maintain existing standards.
This role has cropped up due to an unexpected resignation and is to begin from Monday 2nd November 2020 and will continue until July 2021. As a long-term member of staff the successful candidate would have the advantage in securing a permanent position from September 2021 or sooner.
Responsibilities will include:
- Differentiating for the various needs of the pupils, and teaching accordingly
- Assessing, monitoring and recording progression
