First Lady reunited with London schoolgirls

US First Lady Michelle Obama made time during her busy schedule this week to meet with pupils from the Elizabeth Garrett Anderson school in London.

Mrs Obama first met pupils from here in 2009 when she took part in an emotional assembly at the school.

This time around the First Lady invited students to listen to her speak at Oxford University.

"I remember back when I was your age, trying to decide which schools that I would apply to. And I remember how well-meaning, but misguided, people sometimes questioned whether someone with my background could succeed at an elite university," she told the girls.

Mrs Obama told the girls she was keen to meet them at Oxford University because she wanted them to realise that they could attend a prestigious institute like this if they work hard enough.

The US President and his wife enjoyed a two-day state visit earlier this week, before travelling to France for a G8 summit.
