A Staffordshire high school is inviting the public to take part in hands-on activities and experiments next month as part of its annual science fair.

Walton High School is hosting the special event on March 9th, with highlights including a mobile planetarium and maths challenges, the Sentinel reports.

"As a specialist science school Walton High is keen to promote science and engage students in the subject," science teacher Natalie Smith told the publication.

"This annual event, which has been running for several years now, is always popular both with students and the wider community."

The science fair is free and includes a baked potato supper and refreshments.

Local MP Jeffrey Lefroy has been invited to attend as guest of honour.

Meanwhile, students at Endon Hall Primary School stepped back in time last week for a special history day.

Pupils and members of staff swapped their usual clothing for traditional Victorian attire.
