Children from a school in Hull have put their creative talents to good use by producing their own book.

Pupils from Griffin Primary School on Barham Road came up with the idea after taking part in the Make £5 Blossom enterprise scheme, the Hull Daily Mail reports.

The 40-page book contains work done by the children and focuses on the city of Hull and its history.

Copies are now on sale to the public, with each book priced at £4 and profits going to the school's library.

Stuart Bateman, a year six teacher at Griffin Primary School, said pupils have enjoyed working on the book.

"The children have been really excited about it," he told the publication.

"They have worked really hard on the project and poured their heart and soul into it."

In related news, nearby Pocklington Community School is appealing for WWII evacuees to visit the school and talk to pupils about their life during the period.
