A new initiative has been introduced in a number of Cornish schools, aimed at boosting relations between young people and the police.
According to the Western Morning News, children at Cubert, St Newlyn East, Goonhavern, Perranporth, St Agnes and Mullion are required to collect sticker cards from local police officers and put them in an album which can then be entered into a prize draw.
By speaking to members of the force it is hoped that pupils will gain respect for the job they do.
Constable Sarah Pinder, a neighbourhood beat manager from Perranporth, told the news provider: "Children have been calling at the Perranporth station wanting to see the officers. It's nice to get involved in these projects because it breaks down barriers between us and local people."
The stickers feature images of police dogs and equipment, as well as a gold card with chief contstable Stephen Otter on it.
Meanwhile, officers from Staffordshire Police took part in a special citizenship skills day at Painsly Catholic College earlier this week.
Representatives talked to pupils about issues such as drug trafficking and abuse, the Sentinel reports.
