Pupils at one school in Staffordshire have been working to improve their citizenship skills by spending an entire day focusing on the subject.
Students from Painsley Catholic College swapped their regular classes for activities such as yoga and informative sessions about crime and drug abuse, the Sentinel reports.
"The day was a huge success and students remarked that these days are always stimulating and support their wider education into the world around them," a spokesman for the college told the news provider.
"The college would like to thank all the visitors who helped to ensure the day was such a success."
Officers from the local police force were also in attendance to discuss issues such as drug trafficking and answer questions.
Legal journalist Neil Rose earlier this week warned the government against dropping citizenship education from the curriculum.
Writing in the Guardian, he said we cannot complain about apathetic young people "without giving them the tools to engage with society".
