Basic skills award for Leicester primary school
The work of staff in
teaching jobs at a primary school in Leicester has been recognised, a local news report has said.
According to This is Leicestershire, Rowlatts Hill primary, based at Balderstone Close, was given award for the improvement its students have made.
The Basic Skills Primary Quality Mark recognises Rowlatts Hill's efforts to guarantee that all pupils receive the basic skills of reading, writing and mathematics as well as information and communication technology.
"There is a very positive working atmosphere throughout the school and all the children are engaged in learning," assessor Glynis Rabin was quoted as saying by the publication.
In other news, a maths faith school teacher in Blackburn has been given the Teacher of the Year prize in the first ever Association of Muslim Schools UK awards, according to The Citizen.
Nusrat Mohammed, who has taught the subject at Islamiyah school for eight years, received the accolade at a conference in Leicester.
