Three staff in teaching jobs from South Devon have been selected for a place in the final of the south-west Teaching Awards, a local news report has said.

According to This is South Devon, Lorwyn Randall, from Kingsbridge community college, Martin Harding from St Michael's primary school and Graeme Hankin of Haytor View community primary are among 29 teaching staff to be nominated for the awards that celebrate the unsung heroes of education.

Winners in each of the 11 categories will compete for the prestigious accolades at the national final of the Teaching Awards.

"I'm delighted to be nominated. It's the fact the students themselves nominated me. It's the biggest accolade. It's all the praise I could ever hope to get," Lorwyn Randall, who is in the Outstanding New Teacher of the Year category, told the publication.

In related news, Nusrat Mohammed, a maths teacher in a Blackburn faith school, has won the Teacher of the Year prize in the first ever Association of Muslim Schools UK Awards, according to local news provider The Citizen.
