Staff in
teaching jobs from Suffolk and Essex are among the finalists in this year's esteemed Teaching Awards, a local news report has said.
According to the East Anglian Daily Times, Cathryn Benefer, from Bramfield primary school in Halesworth, Suffolk, will compete for Head teacher of the Year in a primary school, while four nominees from Essex have been nominated for Teacher of the Year in a secondary school.
They are: Daniel Browning, from the Tendring Technology College; Nick Farn, from The Sandon school in Chelmsford; Dr Paul Thomas, who works at Chelmsford's New Hall school and Kara Wren, of Maltings academy in Witham.
The inspirational teachers will compete at a ceremony that will take place at the Rhodes Arts Complex in Hertfordshire on June 24.
In other news, Nusrat Mohammed, a maths teacher at a faith school in Blackburn, has been named Teacher of the Year in the first ever Association of Muslim Schools UK awards, local newspaper the Citizen has reported.
