Staff in teaching jobs from Clifton will be running to raise funds for children overseas, a local news report has said.

According to Clifton People, teachers at International House Bristol, based in Oakfield Road, have decided to take part in the event for COCO, a charity put together by Olympian Steve Cram.

Director Val Hennessy told the publication the participants thought it was the right time to take on the challenge of running a substantial distance in order to raise money for charity.

She added that the team is "truly international", hailing from England, Ireland, France, Italy and Russia.

"One-third of the team have never run in a race before and we are all worried about our race times. However, COCO is worth making the effort for," Ms Hennessy noted.

In other news, staff in teaching jobs from Wirral raised more than £5,000 for national deaf and blindness charity Sense by running the recent London Marathon, according to the Wirral News.
