The Holocaust Educational Trust (HET) is launching a new specialised course for staff in
teaching jobs wishing to learn more about the camps where millions died during the second world war, a news report has said.
According to the Paisley Daily express, teachers can sign up for the summer course which is created to provide a unique look into the history of the Holocaust and its current relevance.
Karen Pollock, who is the chief executive of the HET, said that there is big demand from staff in teaching jobs to participate in the course.
"We are delighted to be able to offer this opportunity for almost 400 teachers from across the United Kingdom," she was quoted as saying by the publication, adding that the "experience will add an extra dimension to teaching in the classroom what can be a very difficult subject".
The HET project includes a visit to Auschwitz-Birkenau and two educational seminars in London and Manchester.
In other news, a new £5.1 million course has been launched as part of a drive to improve pupils' results.
