Midlands pupil assumes teacher job with GCSE self-help book

Robert Blakely, 16, may be set to become a teaching assistant without ever setting foot in a classroom in a professional capacity.

The teenage author has taken it upon himself to educate his fellow pupils in the art of passing GCSE exams through a self-penned book on revision techniques entitled How to Achieve 100 per cent in a GCSE, which has just been published nationally.

Lorna Read, Editor at Writing Ltd, said: "I wish the book had been around years ago when I was doing my O- and A-Levels. Rob makes some excellent points and the book is full of good sense."

The book, written during Robert's summer holiday between GCSEs and A-Levels, was conceived during the Solihull School pupil's GCSE revision period, when he realised there were books telling students what to study, but none helping them learn how.

Solihull School is an independent school for pupils aged seven to 18, located in the West Midlands.
