New Lancashire teachers to receive top training

Newly-qualified primary and secondary teachers in Lancashire teachers have until April 23rd to enrol on a ground-breaking course as part of a drive to improve results in key tests for local youngsters, according to a news report.

The Training and Development Agency for Schools (TDA) has launched the £5.1million Masters in Teaching and Learning scheme in a bid to enable new staff in teaching jobs to meet individual needs of pupils, which is usually gained with years of experience, the Lancashire Telegraph has reported.

The pilot master's degree, which is supported by the Department for Children, Schools and Families, has so far seen a 41 per cent up- take one word in Lancashire and 48 per cent in Blackburn with Darwen.

Graham Holley, chief executive at the TDA, has called all eligible new teachers in the North West to sign up for the masters in teaching and learning course.
