South West nursery is 'outstanding,' says Ofsted
Education watchdog Ofsted has praised a nursery in Great Cheverell for providing "outstanding" education to its pupils, according to a local news report.
Inspectors said Cheverell Old School Nursery, which was established 19 years ago, was rated outstanding in all 17 categories measured, the Gazette and Herald has reported.
According to Ofsted's report, the nursery's pupils are eager learners and confident.
"They are very independent and staff consistently encourage them to try things for themselves. Children are great communicators. They are eager to speak up in group situations and chat happily to staff and their peers," it said.
The nursery caters for 51 children aged from two to five and has four teaching staff and one administrator.
Rhona Welham, the head teacher and manager of the nursery, described the rating by Ofsted as "pretty special."
"Our parents are so supportive. Some burst into tears when they read the Ofsted report. They were so emotional about it," she added.
