Those in education jobs in Wales will teach pupils there's no such thing as a free breakfast, if the Conservatives have their way.
According to the Welsh Conservative party, the National Assembly is wasting money on its free school breakfasts policy which operates at 1,000 schools across the country.
Shadow Minister for Education and the Welsh Language Paul Davies AM said: "This is money which could have been used elsewhere within the education system rather than subsidising something that should be the responsibility of parents.
"Ministers should […] be investing in education, not toast and cornflakes."
He claims the funding that goes into the scheme, which amounts to approximately £8 million a year, could be put to better use in other areas of the education budget.
Approximately 66 per cent of primary schools in Wales currently offer free breakfasts to pupils.
Mr Davies represents the constituency of Preseli Pembrokeshire and has formerly served as Health Minister for Wales.
