Pupils at a school in Bolton have been taking part in an exciting history project backed by the government.
Youngsters from Plodder Lane Primary School in the Farnworth area have turned detective in a bid to uncover their school's history, the Bolton News reports.
Children have been tracking down former pupils, scouring old log books and conducting interviews to gather information.
The school's history co-ordinator Sharif Patel revealed that 10,000 pupils have attended Plodder Lane since it first opened in 1904.
"It has an interesting past and it is about the children learning about the area they live in and preserving the history of it," he commented.
"It is about learning in a different creative way, using professionals who are not teachers and resources such as old log books and photographs."
Mr Patel added that pupils are thoroughly enjoying the project.
