Schools across the UK are enjoying themselves during National Sports Week.

To help enthuse children, schools are receiving visits from Olympic and Paralympic medal winners.

The events organisers hope the involvement of the stars will attract more than 10,000 UK schools and help three million pupils take part.

Olympic medalists Denise Lewis, Jonathan Edwards, Gail Emms and Sascha Kindred have been taking kids for keep fit sessions and helping motivate them to enjoy more sport.

The week was launched by Olympic swimmer Mark Foster and sprinter Jason Gardner, in Leytonstone, east London.

Teaching assistants will no doubt be drawing children's attention to Wimbledon this week and current champion Laura Robson, who is defending her girls' title.
