A teaching assistant from Huddersfield has been nominated for the prestigious Teaching Assistant of the Year award.

Jackie Good, a behaviour improvement officer at Moor End Technology College in Crosland Moor, will discover if she wins the honour at a ceremony on June 19th, reports the Huddersfield Daily Examiner.

Ms Good earned her place on the short list due to her dedication and work for the school and its pupils.

In proposing her nomination the School Council said the teaching assistant "treats all the children like her own," according to the newspaper.

Judges on the awarding panel visited the school last month to interview Ms Good and her colleagues to help them reach their final decision on the prize.

The award will be presented at Cutlers' Hall in Sheffield next month.
Moor End High School originally opened in 1972 but was given the status of a specialist technology college in 1999.ADNFCR-2164-ID-19157517-ADNFCR
