Parents and carers of children with special needs will be invited to a free conference next month.

The event on June 18th will feature workshops on a number of issues such as challenging behaviour, bullying and sexual health, reports the Northern Echo.

It is being organised by the North East Parent Partnership Service and will take place in the Oakwood Centre in Eaglescliffe.

While it is free for parents and carers to attend, places must be booked in advance, with a number of professionals who specialise in working with special needs children paying to be in attendance.

The National Parent Partnership (NPP) is a national programme which is funded by the Department for Children, Schools and Familes which has nine regional branches of across England and also one responsible for Wales.

Its goal is to provide services to parents of children with special needs and promote innovation in the sector.ADNFCR-2164-ID-19171886-ADNFCR
