Yesterday (November 4th) saw the achievements of pupils from the Midlands celebrated in this year's Black Country Challenge Student Awards.
The awards are part of a three-year £28 million government-backed programme to raise aspirations and achievements among local young people.
Black Country Challenge minister Diana Johnson congratulated all those who took part and said improvements in GCSE grades are evidence of renewed commitment from teachers and pupils alike.
The awards were presented by the programme's chief adviser Sir Geoff Hampton and hosted by Michael Collie and Satnam Rana from BBC Midlands Today.
Winning the My School is Great category was Trinity Church of England Primary School in Wolverhampton.
