According to local reports, a group of Midlands students will have a taste of education management when they take the role of head for the day.

The principal of West Notts College and its executive directors will all have their roles up for grabs next week when teachers and pupils mark the Children in Need appeal, claims the Nottingham Evening Post.

Students can apply for the role of principal, director of communications and marketing, director of human resources or director of employer engagement and will collect sponsorship from friends and family for their day's work.

The college's learner voice coordinator, Sue Harries, told the newspaper: "Every year our students come up with such innovative and exciting ways to support this national charity."

Last month saw West Notts awarded £600,000 to create more than 2,500 apprenticeships in transport and engineering for residents of the Midlands city.
