Midlands schools 'fight back against bullying'

Nottingham pupils are marking Anti-Bullying week by taking part in a variety of campaigns, competitions and activities, it has been reported.

According to The Nottingham Evening Post, a school bus campaign, anti-bullying poster competitions and the launch of a new school policy are all on the agenda for local children.

The programme will target the Mansfield, Ashfield and Newark districts of the city and encourage youngsters to report bullying to school staff.

The local newspaper claims the poster competition saw entrants from 960 budding artists, with the eight winning designs sent to schools and youth groups across the country.

In related news, yesterday saw a herd of elephants decorated with anti-bullying messages displayed in London's Saatchi Gallery.

The Mentoring & Befriending Foundation's project involved children aged five to 19 from three schools across the East Midlands.
