Sex ed 'still not reaching all young people'

An education expert has said a gap still exists between the quality of sex and relationship advice young people need and what they actually get.

The comments from the Sex Education Forum follow the government's announcement all children will be taught about sex and relationships at 15 as part of its Personal, Social, Health and Economic scheme.

The new rules will come into place from September 19th, bringing forward the compulsory teaching age from 19.

A spokesperson for the forum - a group managed by London-based charity National Children's Bureau - said: "All children have the right to learn about their bodies, growing up, relationships and sex, at school and at home."
