Trainee Teacher Induction

Once you have successfully gained your QTS you should find a position to begin your induction year. If you start working on supply once you have finished your course, you can only complete up to four terms before you are required to find an inductable position. Once started, the induction process should be completed within 5 years.

Your induction will help you to establish and develop your confidence in teaching from the beginnings of your career. It will also help you to build on the knowledge and skills that you will have developed during your teacher training. You can complete your induction on supply through Teaching Personnel as long as the placement is for a term or longer and if the school are happy to participate in the Induction process. If you need any details on completing your Induction on supply please contact your local branch at any time.

Permanent Posistions

The majority of trainee teachers will complete the three terms of their induction period in one school. Continuity of school, pupils and induction tutor helps you to concentrate on the task in hand and complete your induction successfully. Tpappointments is aware of the need to help trainee teacher's to find permanent placements where they can complete their induction and will help to arrange this with schools when a vacancy is filled.

Supply Teaching

If you would decide to start your career as a supply teacher you may use supply placements lasting for a term or more as part of your induction period. The post must involve regular teaching of the same classes and the school must agree to take responsibility for your progress during your placement.

You can work as a casual supply teacher for up to four terms while you are looking for a post to start your induction.
