Teaching Personnel is recognised for having the most stringent vetting standards in the education recruitment sector. We operate rigorous quality control in all aspects of recruitment, vetting and registration to ensure that, whatever their background, all
our candidates more than match the exacting regulatory standards set by the DfE. Our vetting checks include the following:
- In-depth face-to-face interviews
- Disclosure Barring Service Check
- Identity checks
- Critical assessment of two most recent professional references
- Qualifications check
- Permission to work in the UK check
Central Vetting Control
Through Teaching Personnel's central Vetting Control Department we are able to maintain the most stringent vetting policy and process in the education supply market. There are a significant number of checks our candidates must satisfy before we allow them
to attend your school.
Vetting Records Service
Schools working with Teaching Personnel get secure access to our online Vetting Records Service. This popular service helps schools meet their legal obligations concerning safer recruitment in education by providing visible evidence of the vetting checks
that have been carried out on every candidate we supply.
Child Protection Trained Candidates
Teaching Personnel offers all registered candidates the opportunity to complete an NSPCC accredited level 1 safeguarding course. Written by the NSPCC, this course is aimed at anyone who comes into contact with children and their parents through their work
in an education setting. We believe candidates who have completed this course add value to the schools where they work through Teaching Personnel.
Department for Education Quality Mark Holders

Being holders of the DfE Quality Mark since 2002 means that every area of Teaching Personnel's policies, processes and procedures have been thoroughly scrutinised. We use this comprehensive process to ensure we exceed both regulatory requirements and customer
expectations in all key areas. In 2010 Teaching Personnel became the first agency in the UK to be awarded the DfE Quality Mark for One-to-One Tuition.
